With over 15 years of experience working in schools, Stacey Wheeler brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to science technician training. For the past nine years, she has worked as a senior technician, helping to develop and support science departments in a range of settings.

Stacey made a life-changing move nearly seven years ago when she relocated to Cornwall with her family after securing a dream job in the region. Since then, she has been dedicated to improving the management and efficiency of prep rooms, ensuring high standards of health and safety, and assisting with chemical disposal and storage across multiple schools. Her expertise has been sought after both nationally and internationally, including consulting on the setup of science departments in two new-build schools—one of which was in Spain.

Her commitment to professional development is evident in her qualifications. She holds an NVQ Level 3 in her field and has completed the prestigious STACS (Science Technicians Accredited Co-Leaders in Science) course at York University. Beyond her role in schools, Stacey has played a key part in supporting science technicians across the UK. She founded and currently manages technician networks in both the Nottingham and Cornwall/Devon areas, now connecting over 50 schools. These networks provide CPD opportunities and facilitate collaboration among technicians.
