Early Years Training – Sue Asquith

This course is designed for anyone who works with children in the early years – head of early years, managers, teachers and educators.  It will be a mix of theory and hands on practical learning too.

Day 1 – we will:

  • Explore play-based approach and the importance of learning through play.
  • Explore brain development and how quality early years experiences lay the foundations for future learning.
  • Discuss child development defining the prime areas of learning (Personal, Social and Emotional, Physical Development and Communication and Language) .

Day 2 – we will:

  • Explore The Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning to understand how children learn through playing, exploring, active learning, being creative and critical thinking.
  • Explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEAM) in the early years discussing natural investigation, inquisitiveness and enquiry based learning where children learn through play with guidance from adults.

£575.00 includes two days workshop training, lunch and refreshments on the day.

Meet your Trainer: Sue Asquith

Sue AsquithAward winning freelance International Early Childhood Consultant and published author of Self-Regulation Skills in Young Children.

Sue was invited to present information to the Thai MoE about early years accreditation in 2019, has carried out quality audit inspections internationally and has delivered a keynote speeches, workshops, seminars and chaired panel debates at Expo events, the Nursery World Show, ECDF International and the British Schools Middle East (BSME) conference.

She delivers CPD training for schools and ECEs in the USA, UAE, India and Thailand.  She has worked on several DfE funded projects in the UK, as well as being interviewed on Early Years TV and was one of the judges for the Nursery World Awards in 2022 and 2023.
